The reflexions contained in this book are pastoral: they are the thoughts and words of a pastor to a flock “challenged by today’s trends.” They are liturgical as they follow the course of the liturgical year from the Maranatha of Advent to the “Joys and sorrow” of Christmas, on to the time of Lent as the “season of transformation,” and the Paschal mystery of the Cross and Resurrection, to continue to “walk in his footsteps” in the post-paschal times, meeting Mother Mary frequently along the way. They are also biblical. They are the expressions of the encounter of the Spirit speaking in the Scriptures with the Spirit at work in the signs of the times.​
